Big girl!! (potty talk below)

We've slowly been working with Sophie on using the potty -- up until the past week, we've reserved the potty for just before bathtime, while the water is running. Last week we started putting Sophie in big girl panties just before dinner and letting her run around in those until bedtime, with a few accidents. Today Sophie put on her (Dora) panties at 5:30, and she pee'd in the potty twice and even pooped in the potty!!! I can't believe it!! She still doesn't quite anticipate that she needs to go, but she only leaks a little bit before telling me she needs to "poop" (her universal word for both pee and poop), and then she'll continue to tinkle on the potty. It was quite evident this evening that she recognized how she was able to make herself pee, and also that she needed to stay on the potty after she was done with peeing so that she could poop. I know we have a ways to go with potty training (and potential regression once the baby comes), but this is pretty exciting --she's really becoming a big girl!
