I haven't really discussed my approach to labor this time around, mostly because I'm focusing on not stressing about it and keeping an open mind. With Sophie, I had a plan in place, but it didn't quite work out as my labor stopped progressing after 24 hours and Sophie was delivered by C-section. Rather than schedule a C-section this time, I've decided to try for a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). I'm nervous, but hopeful that this time around we'll be successful with a vaginal delivery.
Switch gears--- while we were at the grandparents' house this weekend, Sophie and I watched a rerun of the women's Olympic figure skating long program. Sophie loves to dance, so I figured she would really enjoy watching this.... see the video below for her reaction (it's about 2 minutes long, but you'll get the idea pretty quickly, oh and please excuse my laughter and talking).
I love how she tries to imitate the ice skaters - spins and jumps, and all. The rain boots and pull-up with tee shirt were entirely her idea -- she was really attached to the rain boots last week!

We are so excited for you both. Our prayers go out for a quick and safe delivery.
ReplyDeleteThe video of Sophie was awesome, she does love dancing.
Sophie is adorable. Wish you guys lived closer so she and Molly could play together.
ReplyDeleteYOU CAN DO THE VBAC!!! You already know how I feel about this topic so I won't repeat myself. ;) Good luck and can't wait to "meet" the new little guy.
Rachel - you're definitely my inspiration for the VBAC! Thanks for all of the information you've shared, it's been so helpful!!
ReplyDeleteWish we lived closer too -- it would be fun to watch Molly and Sophie together.
The video is precious! We have virtually the same video of Mitchell 12 years "skating" along with Tara Lipinski. I hope that Sophie is as embarrassed as Mitchell is!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the new little guy!!! Good luck with the VBAC I think that is great!
ReplyDeleteI loved the video Sophie. I can't wait to see you ice skate too.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to be there for the new baby Christine. You look great and see you soon!
Love you guys
